A scare in the game came in the bottom of the 8th inning, when Texas Rangers’ top prospect, Evan Carter was hit by a pitch. He didn’t play in the second game of the DH and that had some fans concerned.
Antoine Kelly (1-0, 3.18) earned the win after tossing two innings. He have up two runs on three hits, four walks and three strikeouts.

Tekoah Roby made his 3rd start of the season, 2nd at Riders Field
In the second game, the Travelers found the scoreboard first in the 3rd inning. They added two more in the top of the 4th.
Roby hit up to 95 MPM on the radar gun, from what I saw. This is the 2nd time I’ve seen TK Roby in person. I’m no scout but I like what I have seen from him. The stuff is wicked and he’s better than what his numbers may indicate.
The RoughRiders lone run came in the bottom of the 4th inning from a sac-fly RBI off the bat of Scott Kapers, that scored Kellen Strahm.
The RoughRiders were without Evan Carter and Dustin Harris in their lineup.
The RoughRiders and Travelers will play again today with Ryan Garcia (0-1, 3.86) taking the mound for the RoughRiders against Bryan Woo (0-0, 2.25) for the Travelers.
The split leaves the RoughRiders with a record of 7-6. The Travelers have a record of 9-4, which is the best in the Texas League.
