Round Rock does it again!

For the 2nd time in a row the Round Rock Express (14-8) rallied late coming back from a 4-0 deficit to win by a final of 10-5! This brings their win streak to four games.

On the mound

Luis Ortiz started for the Express going 2 innings giving up just 1 hit and striking out 2 on 30 pitches, 21 of those for strikes.

Jason Bahr (11.57) replaced Ortiz in the top of the 3rd. He went 3 innings giving up 4 runs on 3 hits, including 2 home runs and 3 walks.

James Jones (2-0, 4.26) pitched one inning giving up 2 hits and 1 walk. Jones was replaced by Joe Barlow (4.50) who went 1 inning. He allowed one run on one hit, one walk and struckout 3. Jimmy Herget’s pitched the final 2 innings and they were great, giving up just 1 hit and striking out two. He earned the save.

At the plate

The Express were held scoreless until the top of the 4th. Red-hot, Curtis Terry hit a solo shot, his 7th of the season, making the score 4-1.

In the top of the 5th, the E-Train got on the board with a lead-off single from catcher Jack Kruger who was driven in by a Delino DeShields single making the score 4-2. A couple of pitches later, Delino stole 2nd, 1 pitch later he scored on a RBI single by Eli White cutting the score to 4-3.

In the top of the 7th, LF Leody Taveras hit a two run home run, his 4th homer of the season, putting the E-Train up 6-4. Charles Leblanc had an RBI single that scored Ibáñez.

In the top of the 9th, the Express blew the game open thanks to a grand slam by SS Anderson Tejeda, number 3 of the season for him, making the final score 10-5!

The E-Train is about to go for a 5 game winning streak with Collin Wiles (1-0, 1.76) on the bump. They return home to Dell Diamond on Thursday June 3rd to take on El Paso.
