Sebastian Walcott stole his 23rd base

This post recaps the Texas Rangers affiliates' games from July 20, 2025.
Starting with Frisco due to their proximity and my close connection to them.
Frisco RoughRiders (AA)
The RoughRiders played as the Dallas Black Giants last night. The game was closer than the final score would lead you to believe due to an 8-run 9th inning by the Hooks (Astros).
RHP Ben Anderson started for the RoughRiders. Anderson was drafted by the Rangers in the 13th round of the 2019 draft. He pitched three innings — allowing two runs on three hits. Anderson threw 62 pitches - 29 for strikes.
Leandro Lopez comes out of pen for his Double-A debut
RHP Leandro Lopez who was recently promoted to Double-A Frisco from Hub City made his debut for Frisco. He entered in the 8th inning and had a scoreless outing.
He allowed one hit, one walk and struckout one on 20 pitches — 9 for strikes. He hit 96 mph on his fastball.

Walcott led at the plate
At the plate the RoughRiders scored 6 runs on 8 hits. Sebastian Walcott led the way going 2-for-4 with a 2-run triple. He also stole his 23rd base of the season, which is good for 8th in the Texas League.
Abimelec Ortiz also had a multi-hit game going 2-for-5 with an RBI.
Aaron Zavala (.245) flashed his power last night — hitting his 8th HR of the season. He went 1-for-3 with the HR and 2 walks.
The RoughRiders record is now 46-43 and 8-13 in the second half — four games behind the Amarillo Sod Poodles.
The RoughRiders travel to Wichita to face the Win Surge in a 6-game series starting tomorrow.
Round Rock Express (AAA)

One of my favorite pitching prospects — LHP Kohl Drake — started for the Express.
Drake pitched four innings allowing three runs on six hits, one walk and four strikeouts. He threw 72 pitches — 49 for strikes and had 11 swing & misses.
Joe Barlow was credited with the win after he pitched two innings - allowing one unearned run on two hits and he struckout one.

At the plate the Express scored six runs on 10 hits. Michael Helman went 3-for-6 with 2 RBI. Alan Trejo (.237) went 2-for-4 with a HR, 2 RBI, a walk, a stolen base and 3 runs.
The Express' record: 45-48
Hub City Spartanburgers (A+)
The Spartanburgers lost by a touchdown and a field goal — 13-3.
RHP Jose Gonzalez got the start for the Spartanburgers. He allowed five runs on 7 hits, 3 walks and 1 strikeout. Gonzalez threw 65 pitches- 40 for strikes. Even after giving up five runs still has a 3.19 ERA on the season.
RHP Adrian Rodriguez pitched 1.1 innings out of the bullpen and got all of his outs via strikeout.
At the plate, Quincy Scott (.240), was the only Spartanburgers batter with a multi-hit game. He went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Catcher Malcolm Moore went 1-for-4 with a HR. It was his 2nd home run at the High-A level — 3rd for the season.
The Spartanburgers fall to 46-43 on the season. They take on the Greenville Drive (Red Sox) in their next series at Fluor Field at the West End.
Hickory Crawdads (A-)
The Crawdads won 7-5 against the Charleston RiverDogs (Rays) thanks to a five run 6th inning.
RHP Ismael Agreda got the start for the Crawdads. The RiverDogs scored four runs (1 ER) on 4 hits, 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. He threw 64 pitches — 36 for strikes.
He was relieved by RHP Aneudis Mejia (8.24) who earned the win. He allowed one run on 2 hits, 1 walk and 1 strikeout.
