The Sherman Shadowcats of the Mid America League got their first win of the season in walk-off fashion, defeating the Joplin Outlaws 8-7 in 10 innings.I

n a game attended by 347 fans, the Shadowcats used six pitchers to secure their first victory of the young season.

Pitching Highlights

Starter Keith Kennemer: 5 IP, 1 H, 3 BB, 3 K, 5 HBP (76 pitches, 42 strikes)

Israel Diaz: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 K

Clayton Merritt: Earned the win with 1.2 IP, 1 BB, 2 K.

The Shadowcats held a 5-0 lead until the top of the 7th inning when the Outlaws scored 3 runs, beginning their comeback and forcing extra baseball.

Batting Highlights

Jaylan Prince: 3-run HR in the 1st inning, the team’s first home run of the season.

Matthew Herrera: Secured the Walkoff victory with a bases-loaded walk, finished 3-5 with 2 RBI and 1 BB.
