Spartanburgers 2025 Break Camp Roster
Hey, baseball fans! The Hub City Spartanburgers, the Texas Rangers’ new High-A affiliate, have unveiled their 2025 Break Camp Roster, and it’s a 30-man squad packed with talent. With 17 pitchers and 13 position players, this roster includes five players in the Rangers’ top 30 prospects according to MLB Pipeline, plus the top three draft picks from the 2024 Draft! Let’s break down the lineup and see who’s ready to make some noise in Spartanburg this season.
Pitchers (17)
The Spartanburgers are rolling out a deep pitching staff with 17 arms, a mix of young talent and promising returners. David Davalillo (No. 30 prospect) and Paul Bonzagni (No. 24 prospect) headline the group, with Davalillo posting an impressive 1.88 ERA between Low-A Down East and High-A Hickory in 2024, and Bonzagni going 2-0 with a 3.55 ERA in Hickory. Keep an eye on Larson Kindreich, who’s got closer stuff with a 1.62 ERA in limited action last year, and Dylan MacLean, who’s back after missing all of 2024 due to injury. Aidan Curry had a tough 2024 with a 6.44 ERA, but I’m betting he’ll turn things around in 2025!
Paul Bonzagni (RHP, 22, 2-0, 3.55 ERA, HIC, Rangers No. 24 prospect)
Wilian Bormie (RHP, 22, 6-3, 3.47 ERA, DE)
Seth Clark (LHP, 25, 1-2, 4.32 ERA, FRI)
Aidan Curry (RHP, 22, 3-9, 6.44 ERA, HIC)
Joey Danielson (RHP, 24, 3-1, 3.24 ERA, DE)
David Davalillo (RHP, 22, 8-2, 1.88 ERA, DE-HIC, Rangers No. 30 prospect)

Larson Kindreich (LHP, 25, 0-0, 1.62 ERA, HIC)
Leandro Lopez (RHP, 22, 1-1, 9.00 ERA, HIC)
Dylan MacLean (LHP, 22, HIC)
D.J. McCarty (RHP, 22, 2-7, 4.43 ERA, HIC)
Josh Mollerus (RHP, 25, 2-4, 5.40 ERA, HIC)
Victor Simeon (RHP, 24, 3-2, 1.98 ERA, DE)
Anthony Susac (RHP, 22, 1-0, 0.00 ERA, DE)
Josh Trentadue (LHP, 23, 3-5, 4.46 ERA, DE)
Adonis Villavicencio (RHP, 24, 0-2, 4.56 ERA, DE)
Catchers (3)
The catching trio brings a mix of defense and offensive potential. Malcolm Moore (No. 4 prospect), the Rangers’ 2024 1st-round pick (30th overall), showed serious power in Hickory with a .672 slugging percentage despite a .209 average. Julian Brock and Cal Stark add depth, with Brock slashing .254/.318/.376 in Down East last year.
Julian Brock (23, DE, .254/.318/.376)
Malcolm Moore (21, HIC, .209/.298/.672, Rangers No. 4 prospect, 2024 1st Rd, 30th overall)
Cal Stark (22, HIC, .200/.273/.500)
Infielders (4)
The infield is loaded with young talent, including Arturo Disla, who I’ve got my eye on after he hit .274/.358/.512 with 19 HRs between Down East and Hickory in 2024. Danyer Cueva, Gleider Figuereo, and Esteban Mejia bring versatility and potential to the mix.
Danyer Cueva (20, DE-HIC, .250/.306/.349)
Arturo Disla (24, DE-HIC, .274/.358/.512)
Gleider Figuereo (20, HIC, .227/.309/.423)
Esteban Mejia (20, DE-HIC, .256/.334/.375)
Outfielders (6)
The outfield is stacked with exciting prospects, including Anthony Gutierrez (No. 18 prospect), who hit .242/.315/.316 in 2024, and 2024 draft picks Dylan Dreiling (No. 10 prospect, 2nd Rd, 65th overall) and Casey Cook (3rd Rd, 103rd overall). Dreiling slashed .198/.340/.279 in Hickory, showing a good eye at the plate, while Cook and others like Quincy Scott and Marcus Smith are ready to make their mark.
Casey Cook (22, DE, .197/.293/.239, 2024 3rd Rd, 103rd overall)

Top 30 Prospects on the Roster
The Spartanburgers boast five players in the Rangers’ top 30 prospects, per MLB Pipeline:
Malcolm Moore (No. 4)
Dylan Dreiling (No. 10)
Anthony Gutierrez (No. 18)
Paul Bonzagni (No. 24)

Players I’m Excited to See in Frisco
I’m keeping a close eye on a few position players who could make the jump to Double-A Frisco this season: Anthony Gutierrez, Dylan Dreiling, Julian Brock, and Arturo Disla.
These guys have the tools to take their game to the next level, and I can’t wait to see them climb the ladder.
Pitchers to Watch
On the mound, Aidan Curry didn’t have the year we expected in 2024, but I’m rooting for him to bounce back—he’s got the stuff to turn it around! Larson Kindreich has closer potential with that nasty 1.62 ERA from last year, and Dylan MacLean is a wildcard to watch after missing all of 2024 with an injury. These arms could make some noise in 2025!
Coaching Staff
The Spartanburgers’ coaching staff is ready to lead this talented group of prospects:

Drew Sannes (Hitting Coach)
Elevys Gonzalez (Development Coach)
Jay Sullenger (Development Coach)
Key Dates to Mark on Your Calendar
The Spartanburgers kick things off with exhibition games on April 1st against USC Upstate and April 2nd against the Hickory Crawdads. Their first official home game at the new ballpark is April 15th—don’t miss it!
This roster is bursting with potential, and I’m excited to see how these players develop in 2025. Stay tuned to The Prospect Times for all the latest updates on the Spartanburgers and the Rangers’ farm system—let’s root for these guys to swing for the fences!
