Over their last two games, the Spartanburgers have scored just 1 run, managing only 6 hits in this contest and going 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.

Disla Provides Lone Spark

Arturo Disla was the only bright spot offensively, delivering the Spartanburgers’ sole extra-base hit with a double, his 6th of the season. Despite his effort, Hub City couldn’t string together hits to challenge the Emperors’ pitching.

Lopez Solid, Bullpen Falters

Starting pitcher Leandro Lopez (L, 1-1) battled through 4 innings, allowing 3 hits, 1 unearned run, 3 walks, and striking out 6. Reliever Josh Mollerus struggled, pitching 1 inning and surrendering 5 hits, 4 runs, including a home run, which allowed the Emperors to pull away.
