The Hub City Spartanburgers (10-8) couldn’t capitalize on key moments, falling 6-3 to the Greenville Drive (8-9) in a game where they went 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position. Anthony Gutierrez played hero the previous game but wasn't able to tonight. With two outs in the 9th, he struck out on three pitches, ending the comeback bid.
Dreiling, Figuereo, and Stark Lead Offense
Dylan Dreiling paced the Spartanburgers’, going 3-for-5 with a double (his 3rd), a stolen base (his 3rd), and an RBI (his 8th).
Gleider Figuereo contributed with a 2-for-4 performance, while Cal Stark went 3-for-4, but the team’s struggles with runners in scoring position proved costly.
Pitching Struggles in Middle Innings
Starting pitcher Josh Trentadue (L, 1-1) battled through 4 innings, allowing 3 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts.
Reliever Seth Clark didn't have a great outing, pitching 1 inning and giving up 3 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk, and 2 strikeouts, which allowed the Drive to pull ahead.
Game 4
