TCL RoughRiders Game 3 recap: Riders lose 2-1
The Frisco RoughRiders lost the rubber match in the three game series against the Tulsa Drillers by a final of 2-1. The Frisco RoughRiders staff struggled with control as they walked seven batters in this game. Over the three-game series the pitching staff walked 16 batters so they will need to limit the free passes. They have the lowest ERA as a staff over the first three games at 2.52.
Their record is now 1-2 on the young 30-game season.
The RoughRiders starting pitcher, Cole Reeves, pitched two scoreless innings. He allowed one hit and walked two. Chase Lorg pitched two innings of relief and allowed one run on one hit and three walks.
Jack Werran was tagged with the loss for the RoughRiders. He pitched two innings and allowed one run on one hit and two walks whie throwing 37 pitches – 22 for strikes.
Rhett Kouba only allowed one hit in his two innings of work.
Offensively the RoughRiders were led by Dan Pruitt who had the only RBI and he ended up going 1-4. Avery George, went 2-4 and was the only Rider to get multiple hits. Julio Riggs worked the two walks and the team left seven on-base.
The Drillers used three pitchers and as a staff they allowed five hits, issued two walks and struck out eight. Garrett Crowley allowed the only run in his three innings pitched. He allowed three hits, one walk and struck out five.
Shane Mejia did not allow a hit and struck out one in his three scoreless innings. Javier Ramos pitched three scoreless as well and earned the W. He gave up two hits, walked one and struck out two.
After the game, the RoughRiders issued a statement. At this time, it seems the RoughRiders TCL season will continue but no games will be played in front of fans in the DFW Area.
