Triple-A Round Rock Express
The Express are off to a fantastic start on the season at 5-1. They had the day off with a new series starting against the Sugarland Skeeters (Astros) Thursday May 13, 2021.
Double-A Frisco RoughRiders
The RoughRiders played a double-header and won both games to improve to 6-2 on the season.
Game one
They won game one of the double header by a final of 3-1. Left-hander Jake Latz (1-0, 4.91) got the start for the RoughRiders and was fantastic! He pitched 5 innings allowing only one hit, one walk and struckout six.
Noah Bremer (S1, 4.50) pitched two innings out of the pen and earned his 1st save of the season. He allowed one run on two hits.
At the plate, the RoughRiders were led by Bubba Thompson. He went 2 for 4 with an RBI. He got a 1.086 OPS.
Julio Pablo Martinez got on-bass multiple times. He went 1 for 1 with an RBI and two walks.
Steele Walker went 1 for 3 with an RBI. Ryan Dorow’s bat has been heating up. He went 1 for 2 with a run and a walk.
Game Two
Right-hander, Tyler ‘Strike Throwing’ Phillips (1-0, 1.00) got the start for the Riders. He pitched 5 innings, allowing one run on two hits, including a home run and struck out seven. One thing about Tyler is he does not issue many walks.
Right-hander Scott Engler came in out of the pen and shut things down. He pitched two scoreless and only allowed one hit and struck out four. He earned his first save.
At the plate, Ryan Dorow went 2 for 3 with a run. Diosbel Arias went 1 for 3 with a run.
Jax Biggers went 1 for 2 with an RBI. The line-up struck out 10 times as a unit.
Cole Winn is due to start tonight.
High A Hickory Crawdads
The Crawdads got the win over the Winston-Salem Dash by a final of 3-1. They did it with strong pitching and a three run inning in the bottom of the 3rd.
Cole Ragans got the start for the Crawdads and he looked good he pitched 4 innings, allowed one run on 3 hits, two walks and struck out 5. He’s now got a 5.14 earned run average.
Tai Tiedemann (1-0, 0.00) earned the win. He pitched four hitless innings out of the pen and struck out four.
Right-hander Nick Snyder came in and shut things down and struckout two to earn his 2nd save.
Several Crawdads had a hit but none had a multi-hit game. Miguel Aparicio had a solo home run (1st) and also had an outfield assist.
The Crawdads are now 4-4.
Low A Down East Wood Ducks
The game was postponed due to weather so there will be a double-header today with the first game at 5. The 2nd game will follow 30 minutes after the completion of the 1st game. We’ll keep you posted. The Wood Ducks are currently 7-0.
