Winston Santos made his 1st start in a Hickory Crawdads uniform. The outing couldn't have gone better for the 20-year-old right-hander.

Winston Santos (W,1-0) went 6 innings, only giving up 1 hit,  ZERO walks and runs, plus 5 strikeouts. He threw 77 pitches- 53 strikes-24 balls and only had two 3-ball counts in his 6 innings.

Winston had plenty of run support to work with from the Crawdads hitters. The Crawdads had 13 hits lead by CF Daniel Mateo, who was a homer from hitting for the cycle. Daniel went 3-for-5 with 3 RBI.

1st baseman Josh Hatcher went 2-for-5 with 4 RBI, thanks to a bases-clearing double and an RBI-single. Last but not least, 3rd baseman Keyber Rodriguez went 3-for-4.

The Crawdads take Gm 1 of this 3-game series! Game 2 is tomorrow with first pitch set for  6:00 PM Central.
