Wood Ducks Rookie had a wild outing!

The Down East Wood Ducks season opener didn’t go the way everyone wanted in a 5-4 defeat.

The Wood Ducks #5 Prospect on Prospect Times Top 20 list, 19-year-old rookie, Brock Porter, outing didn’t even last a whole inning. Brock was a bit on the wild side in his 2/3 of a inning. He threw 32 pitches- 12 strikes- 20 balls and gave up 1 run on 1 hit, 4 walks and 1 strikeout.

Matt Brosky (L,0-1) (BS,1), making his 1st appearance in OUR Rangers organization the 2022 8th rd pick went 3 innings 4 hits 3 runs 2 walks 4 strikeouts throwing 52 pitches 32 strikes 20 balls!

18-year-old outfielder Anthony Gutierrez had a good night. He had 2 of the Wood Ducks 6 total hits and also had 2 runs scored. 18-year-old 3rd Baseman Gleider Figuereo had 2 hits and 2 RBI.

The Wood Ducks continue this 3-game series with game 2 tomorrow night at 6:00 PM Central.
