It was a beautiful night at Dr Pepper Ballpark to catch some RoughRiders baseball. It was St Jude night meaning that every ticket sold benefited St Jude. If you haven’t been to Dr Pepper Ballpark and are in the DFW area, you really need to. They also have promotions, it is a beautiful park and you get to watch baseball.
Things started off good for the RoughRiders after getting a run in the bottom of the 1st. They held that lead until the 5th inning and by the time the game ended the score was 10-3 and Ryan Dorow pitched for the first time professionally. I believe I saw 68 MPH on the scoreboard at one point and he pitched a scoreless inning.
Jason Bahr
This was Bahr’s 2nd start for Frisco since he was promoted. I was in the camera well and wasn’t really paying attention to his velocity but was told he was sitting 92-94 on his fast ball. Bahr looked good early on as he cruised through the first 4 innings with a 1-0 lead.
The 5th inning is when his scoreless streak came to an end. He walked #30 prospect, Dairon Blanco and then Collin Theroux hit a home run to Left Centerfield on the 1st pitch he saw.
Bahr came back out for the top of the 7th after a shut out 6th inning. Things started off good as Tyler Ramirez grounded out, Dairon Blanco struck out but then Collin Theroux drew a walk. Nate Mondou brought him home when he doubled making the score 3-2 Midland.
Bahr’s line was: 6.2 IP, 4 R, 3 H, 2 BB, 6 SO
Bullpen struggled
Walker Weickel has pitched very well for the RoughRiders all season. Last night he pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed 2 home runs.
C.D. Pelham also pitched for 1/3 of an inning and issued 4 walks and allowed 4 runs. His earned run average is now an even 10.
DeMarcus Evans pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed 1 hit, 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. His earned run average is now 2.31 in 11.2 innings.
Ryan Dorow threw 7 pitches for his scoreless inning.
Line-up
Leody Taveras led off and went 1-4 with a walk and 1 strikeout.
Charles Leblanc went 3-5 with a run and brought his average to .285 on the year.
Michael De Leon went 1-5 with a run and an RBI extended his hitting streak to 6 games.
Andretty Cordero went 1-5 with an RBI and 1 strikeout.
Yonny Hernandez pinch hit for Preston Beck and went 1-1.
LeDarious Clark went 1-4 with an RBI and 2 strikeouts.
After the Riders lead the Division for most of the 1st half of the season, one thing for certain is that they need to start winning games to make the post-season in the 2nd half.
