Banana Ball rolled through Frisco and it was truly a spectacle like never before

20,000 Fans got to experience the one of a kind spectacle that is Banana Ball on Friday and Saturday night here in Frisco. Both nights had sold out crowds of 10,000 fans who were eager to get their first glimpses into the world of Banana Ball as the Party Animals faced off against the Texas Tailgaters who were having their first headliner in their teams history.

Getting there at 11am to see them already working on things from working on audio, going through dances and even down to the sequencing of the music to when they’re thanking the Military and first responders. The passion and care they have put into every little detail is inspiring to see and makes you truly understand why they’ve grown in just the 5 short years into this phenomenon.

Things started off early as fans started to arrive at 3 PM to get their hands on merchandise and hangout with the team, get autographs and enjoy the outside festivities. After an hour and a half all the VIPs were allowed on the field from 4:45-5:30 to hang out with both teams, get autographs, throw the football around, play cornhole and just get 1 on 1 time with the players. It truly was about the fans the entire weekend and this shows just how “fan first” the teams really are. To see things from Jonathan “Sunshine” Luders letting fans autograph his unicycle to Bronson “Bronny” Balholm letting a young fan paint his fingernails for him since he was catching that night it was remarkable to see it all.

Both games were filled to the brim with entertainment from the Game itself, to Tater Tot of the game, the Slowest race of all time, to Crowning a King of Tailgating, it truly was an experience like nothing you’ve ever seen. But before anyone goes mentioning the lack of “skill” in the players, there is no lack of that as there are plenty of Top 3 Round Picks, All American players, guys throwing in the high 80’s to 90’s so don’t let the dancing and shenanigans fool you, these boys can truly play ball.

These guys are true professionals, from rehearsing for hours on que’s, walk ups, in between inning hi-jinx and so much more to then go to batting practice and working on swings and approaches it’s one of the most impressive regiments you’ll ever see and truly the fun never ever stops.

The Party Animals and Tailgaters would end up splitting the 2 games and I was able to talk to Tailgaters Pitcher Kollin Stone after night 1 where he pitched a scoreless 5th inning, albeit to a losing effort as the Tailgaters lost to the Party Animals and I asked him if having a bad performance hinders how he feels when doing the routines or if the outing sticks on your mind to which he replied “As a Competitor you always want to do good, we always want to win so of coarse it’s going to sting a little; however when I’m out there with the guys I’m making sure I’m still putting on as good of a performance as I can for the fans, I don’t want kids to see me up in my head about the game, we’re here to give them the best experience we possibly can so I always go with that mindset no matter how well or poor my performance on the mound goes.”

They truly have a fan first mentality and is such an intricate part of how they’ve grown their brand the way they have and are soon about to announce 2 more teams next month and will be why Banana Ball will thrive for years and years to come.
