The Round Rock Express got their first win of the season behind the strong start of Cody Bradford.
They won 6-1 behind a combination of 4 pitchers throwing a 5 hitter.
Starter Cody Bradford (W, 1-0) went 5.1 shutout innings in what was his Triple-A debut. He gave up 2 hits, ZERO runs, 2 walks, 6 strikeouts – 5 were swinging strikeouts. He threw 73 pitches 48 strikes 25 balls!
Chase Lee relieved Cody with 1 on and 1 out to retired the 2 hitters!
T//7 Chase went back out to the mound and allowed 2 hits and 1 run. Jake Latz (H,1) came in to get the last out of the inning.
While the Express pitchers were doing their thing on the mound, the Express hitters were also doing their job!
B//1 the Express got on the board thanks to a grounder from Sandy Leon for a 1-0 lead.
Up 1-0, we moved to the bottom of the 4th. The Express once again found the scoreboard thanks to a RBI single from Diosbel Arias followed by a HBP from J.P Martinez then Jonathan Ornelas F/C making the new score 4-0.
B//8 Express up 4-1 gets a 2 run single from J.P. Martinez making the final score 6-1.
For the 2nd game Elier Hernandez and Clint Frazier had 2 hits each. Diosbel Arias had 2 hits. J.P Martinez had 1 hit but 3 RBI’s.
