Carlos Cardoza Named Frisco RoughRiders Manager
“Absolute leader.” Words that a player used to describe Carlos Cardoza, who the Texas Rangers named as the new manager of the Frisco RoughRiders, the team’s Double-A affiliate. He becomes the 9th manager of the RoughRiders.
Jared Goedert, after leading the RoughRiders to the 2022 Texas League Championship, reportedly left the Rangers in January, leaving a vacancy at the manager role. Cardoza may just be the best person to replace him as he’s familiar with some of the current players and others that will promote to Frisco this season.
Cardoza, has been with the Rangers organization since 2015, most recently serving as the manager of the Hickory Crawdads, the clubs High-A affiliate in 2022 and the manager of the Down East Wood Ducks in 2021.
He’s also managed Dominican Summer League Rangers and Arizona League Rangers and has a total managerial record of 312-207, including guiding the Crawdads to a 66-65 record in 2022.
Cardoza has a proven track record of helping develop young talent, and the Rangers are excited to see him bring that same energy and expertise to Frisco.
