Chris Martin

As the dawn of the 2025 baseball season arrives, the smells of America’s pastime come rushing back: the grass, the dirt, concession items, and the pure aura of being in a stadium where you’re so passionate about your team. That’s what this game is all about! Now, let’s have some predictions and stories for the 2025 season.

My first one for the season will be none other than the hometown kid fellow Arlington High School Alumni right handed pitcher Chris Martin. Chris, whom has more then a rather interesting story to his path to the big leagues. Chris Would go onto to attend McLennan Junior College forgoing the opportunity of being a professional baseball player as he was drafted by the Detroit Tigers.

Unfortunately, Chris would injure ligaments causing him to have career ending surgery. When Chris was working at Texas appliance his boss brought baseball gloves and wanted to throw in the back of the warehouse this is where Chris’s love for the game came back. Chris would go onto to play for an independent baseball team the Air Hogs, in just a short time the Boston Red Sox had signed Martin. 

The right-hander had a brief stint playing in Japan from 2016-2017 rubbing shoulders with one of the best to ever come out of Japan; Shohei Ohtani.

In 2019, the final year of the very stadium that he grew up attending games and watching his hometown team. The Rangers would sign him & he would be with us for the final season at The Ballpark in Arlington.

2021, The dream every baseball player dreams of a World Championship, well maybe not for Chris for where he was just a short time ago not being in baseball working at Texas appliance, But he would win the 2021 World Series With The Atlanta Braves.

Fast-Forward to 2025 the Texas Rangers have re-signed Chris in what is likey his final year in MLB and more than likely he will be closing out games for his hometown Texas Rangers. My bold prediction in 2025 for Chris is that he will be an All-Star.

This just shows you if you still have the desire & passion the opportunity will someday present itself!
