Left-handed pitcher Cody Bradford earned his 1st AA win. The RoughRiders won by a final of 8-0 over the Arkansas Travelers and move to 53-37 on the season.
On the mound
Cody Bradford pitched a heck of a game and had the longest outing of any RoughRider this season. His seven shutout innings also helped the RoughRiders avoid a four-game losing streak, which would have been a season-high. During his seven innings he threw 81 pitches/65 for strikes and allowed 4 hits, 1 BB and struckout 9. It really doesn’t get much more efficient than that.
So far in his 3 starts for Frisco, Bradford has been dominant. He’s issued one walk over 17.1 innings.
Out of the pen
Juan Mejia, a 22-year old left-hander from Venezuela, made his RoughRiders debut. He pitched one shutout inning walking two and striking out two. 26/12 strikes.
Grant Anderson pitched the top of the 9th. He allowed one hit but struckout the side.
At the plate
The scoring got started in the bottom of the 4th with a groundout by Justin Foscue. He went 0-4 with a run and the RBI.
Bubba Thompson remains a constant threat at the lead-off spot. He went 3-4 with an RBI and a run. He’s hitting .270 with a .796 OPS.
Blaine Crim is really good at hitting home runs. It is what he did on a nightly basis in Hickory and it is now what he is doing in Frisco. He hit one 434 feet with an exit velocity of 109 off the bat. He is hitting .364 with a 1.121 OPS.
The only other RoughRider with a multi-hit game was Miguel Aparicio (.125). He went 2-4 and also got his first RBI.
Jax Biggers hit a rare home run. He hit his 2nd of the year in the bottom of the 7th to give the Riders a 6-0 lead at the time.
Sam Huff also contributed with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the 4th. He went 1-4 with 2 strikeouts.
