The Round Rock Express line-up got a lot of help from their Pitchers last night in a 1-0 victory over the OKC Dodgers! The Express managed only 4 hits while 4 Express pitchers combined on a 3 hitter! The game was tied at 0-0 until the 6th inning.

In the top of the 6th the Express scored the only score run of the night thanks to a sac-fly from designated hitter Nick Solak that scored centerfielder Bubba Thompson from 3rd.

The 6 inning started with Bubba Thompson getting on 1st thanks to a error on the 3rd baseman! Then this is where Bubba knack for stealing bases comes in handy! Bubba stole 2nd base (34) on a 1-0 pitch. Then after 1 out Bubba stole 3rd base (35) on a 1-0 pitch. Then Nick Solak hit the sac-fly to centerfield scoring Bubba from 3rd for the only run of the game.

Cole Ragans made just his 2nd start in Triple-A since being promoted and had his best outing since May 8th when he was with AA Frisco: 6 innings, 2 hits, 0 runs, 2 walks and 9 strikeouts!

Reliever Jonathan Hernandez replaced Ragans in the 7th (H,3) who went 1 inning and allowed only 1 hit. Then in the 8th Sean Patton (H,2) came in and went 1 inning, throwing up all zeros.

In the bottom of the 9th closer of the day Josh Sborz (S,1) stuckout the 1st 2 hitters then allowed a walk but struckout the last batter to end the game.

What’s next?

RHP Cole Winn (4-0, 5.43) takes the mound for the Express tonight against LHP Robbie Erlin (3-1, 4.87) and the OKC Dodgers. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM Central.
