Frisco ran out of outs in 5-3 defeat

The Frisco RoughRiders out hit the Missions 7-5. Frisco pitching struck out 10 Missions batters while only striking out 6 times.

Frisco got 3 runners thrown out on the bases while the Missions didn’t have any thrown out.

The Biggest difference tonight between the 2 teams was Frisco WALKED 8 Missions hitters while Frisco walked 3 times.

Frisco’s starter Jack Leiter had a rough 1st inning. He loaded the bases on walks then struckout the next batter, then allowed a 2-run single to put RoughRiders in the hole early.

In the bottom of the 1st while trailing 2-0 the RoughRiders got RBI singles from Justin Foscue and Kellen Strahm and Sac-Fly from Jax Biggers to take a 3-2 lead.

Leiter settled down for the next 4.2 innings only given up 2 hits and 1 walk. He topped out at 98 mph in the 6th while sitting 92-94 in the 1st.

Reliever Josh Smith got the last out in the 6th.

While Leiter settled down so did RoughRiders hitters who had their chances but couldn’t get anyone to cross home plate.

In the top of the 7th pitcher Justin Slaten (L 1-6) (BS,2) went 1.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 2 hits, 3 walks and 1 strikeout.

Relievers Tai Tiedemann and Marc Church threw 1.2 innings of hitless ball.

Jonathan Ornelas went 2-3 And Justin Foscue gets another hit continues his hot August hitting .382 with 3 doubles, 4 HR and 11 RBI.

Game 3 of 6 tonight at 7:05 with Cody Bradford on the mound for the RoughRiders.
