Frisco, Texas - Game four of the 2022 Frisco Classic on Saturday night featured a matchup between the Iowa Hawkeyes (5-4) and the Texas A&M Aggies (6-3). The game was close throughout, but the Aggies managed to pull away in the bottom of the 6th. Here is a recap of all the action from Frisco, Texas!
The Hawkeyes sent left-hander Cam Baumann to the mound and the Aggies handed the ball to right-hander Micah Dallas. Dallas was making his 3rd start of the season and entered the game with a 2-0 win-loss record and a 0.63 earned run average. Micah Dallas went five innings and gave up two runs on six hits while striking out seven.
Baumann was ineffective for the Hawkeyes in the bottom of the first, facing four batters before being replaced by Nedved who had a solid performance out of the pen. He went 4.2 innings, surrendering two unearned runs on three hits, one walk, and nine strikeouts. He had other control issues, including two wild pitches and a HBP but still a solid outing considering he entered the game in the 1st inning.
The Aggies got the scoring started in the bottom of the 2nd with two runs scored to the delight of the mostly Aggie crowd.
The Hawkeyes got a run right back in the of the 3rd inning.
The Aggies got the win when they busted the game open in the bottom of the 6th scoring five runs.
The winning pitcher was Jacob Palisch. He went 2 innings, allowing one unearned run on three hits and three strikeouts.
Iowa move to 5-5 on the season while A&M moves to 7-3.
