Izack Tiger the hard throwing Rangers prospect was drafted in the 7th round of last year’s MLB draft.
Tiger caught the eyes of the Rangers officials in the spring when he pumped his fastball near the 100 mph mark. Tiger was aimed to be a breakout prospect after his breakout spring but was off to a rough start when he missed the first 2 months with elbow inflammation.
After coming back he would throw 46 innings this year splitting time between 3 levels of the Farm system. He would last pitch August 23rd finishing with a 2.93 and 59 Strikeouts in the 13 games he pitched in this year. Tiger would also walk 21 guys in those 46 innings so when the right-hander comes back I’d suspect the Rangers are hoping his command builds up during his recovery.
It was announced today that earlier in the week was when Tiger had the hybrid elbow reconstruction Surgery, and with the usual timetable for Tommy John being around 14 months, I wouldn’t expect Fireballer to be back before the Spring of the 2026 season.
We’ve seen guys like Rocker come out of this on top of the world. So this may be a setback right now for Tiger however, he could come back even stronger than before in 2026 and truly make a name for himself.
