At the plate, he didn't have a good season for our Rangers but defensively, Joey Gallo has won a Gold Glove. Gallo didn't shine at the plate but he did in the field. With this win, Gallo becomes the Rangers third outfielder to win a Gold Glove. The first was Juan Beníquez in 1977 and then Gary Pettis in 1990.
Defensively, Gallo had a Rdrs of 12 and a fielding percentage of 1.000 so he couldn't have been better.
Offensively, Gallo slashed a line of .181/.301/.378/.679 so he will be looking to improve at the plate in 2021. The Rangers may look into extending him but I would think they'd use this next year to see any adjustments at the plate. Gallo is also a candidate to be traded but I doubt the Rangers would sell low on Gallo, which is what they'd be doing now. What they need to do is get Gallo some protection around him in the line-up.
Congratulations to Joey Gallo on winning this well deserved gold glove.
