The Frisco RoughRiders looked to push past the .500 mark. They didn’t have to look much further than their starting pitcher, Nick Krauth and their lead-off hitter, Evan Carter.
The RoughRiders came into this game with a 3-3 record and wasted no time getting on the board. Evan Carter singled in the top of the 1st and he was later driven home on single by Dustin Harris.
By the time the Missions recorded the 3rd out in the 1st, the score was 2-0.
Nick Krauth was impressive in his first Double-A start. He held the Missions scoreless for 5 innings. His only allowed one hit, a single in the 3rd, two walks and a HBP. He threw 59 pitches/39 for strikes and earned the win.
The bullpen deserves a huge shoutout here as well. Ricky DeVito, Grant Wolfram, Nick Starr and Triston Polleycame out of the bullpen and helped complete the RoughRiders first shutout win of the year.
The RoughRiders pitching staff held the Missions to only three hits on the night.
Evan Carter ended the night going 4-for-6 with 2 RBI. His four hits, tied a career-high that he set in two games last season with Hickory.
Needless to say, the Texas Rangers top prospect, Evan Carter, has been on fire for the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders to start the season. So much so, that if he keeps it up, we may not see him in Frisco much longer.
Other notes
Evan Carter tied his career-high with 4 hits tonight. He has had 4 hits in two other games with Hickory in 2022.

Besides Carter…Scott Kapers, Chris Seise, Dustin Harris and Luisangel Acuña each had a multi-hit game.
The RoughRiders move to 4-3 on the season.
