After the first Twelve games of the season the Rangers, are tied for first in the American League West with The Los Angeles Angels.
Their 7-5 record came with sweeping the NL Champs, the Philadelphia Phillies, the Rangers have showed Elite promise so far.
Or have they?
Corey Seager, is set to miss four weeks with a Left hamstring strain, possibly Josh Smith filling in for Seager could land a positive outcome. The Rangers are set to face the Astros in a three game series in Houston starting Friday. The Astros have a 6-7 record coming into this series sitting in the third place in the AL west. It’s only twelve games and we need to see more but you can see the positive production that Rangers GM Chris Young was hoping to see out of the stars he brought in.
Martin Perez set to make the start Friday night, following Jon Gray and Andrew Heaney Saturday and Sunday.
Leody Tevarus made his season debut in the series finale against the Royals with three at bats and striking out all 3 times. Leody is the set Center fielder, for now as he still develops discipline at the plate. Someone to watch while Seager is out is Josh Smith. Although his batting average is below .200, his OBP is .407 which means he’s getting on base. Watch Josh Smith as he continues to prove that he is worthy for his roster spot.
Watch first pitch Friday April 14 7:10pm.
