Down East Wood Ducks pitcher Nick Krauth has won the player of the week for the 2nd week in a row. That's not an easy feat to accomplish. He was the first Wood Duck to be named player of the week meaning that he is the first player to win this honor two weeks in a row.
This time it was for his performance on Saturday September 4th against the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (White Sox). He pitched six innings with only one unearned run crossing the plate on two hits. He struckout a career-high eleven batters.
The previous week he pitched a complete game against the Fayetteville Woodpeckers (Astros). He allowed one run on one hit, two walks and nine strikeouts.
Nick Krauth, 22, is a right-handed pitcher that the Rangers signed as an undrafted free agent. He pitched at UConn A Junior, he was 4-0 with 0.36 ERA when season was shut down in 2020. He beat Michigan twice in that short period of time.
Congratulations to Nick Krauth for winning player of the week honors two weeks in row. It is well-deserved.
