Baseball Ball

No reason to freak out. My thoughts on Game one.

Most fans may look at this game and freak out because of the bullpen giving up the lead in the 9th on a 3-run home run. Luke Jackson just didn’t have it tonight and that’s pretty clear. He has the stuff to close some games for the Rangers and he will. He may not be the sure closer this year. I have a feeling there won’t be a sure closer unless we trade for one at the Trade Deadline. It will probably be a mix of Luke Jackson, Chris Martin, Robert Garcia, and maybe sprinkle Shawn Armstrong. It will just depend on the situation of the game. Bochy will get a feel for this bullpen and it will be fine.

Now for the good things I saw tonight. Number one, Nathan Eovaldi’s curveball that thing was untouchable. Rafael Devers struck out 3 times on it. Two, the Rangers put up good at-bats against one of the best pitchers in baseball( Garrett Crochet). Three, the Rangers were hitting the fastball, and a good one at that. The Rangers were one of the worst teams against fastballs last year if not the worst team. Crochet’s fastball is a good one too it is his best pitch. The Rangers put up good at-bats all night against it. Josh Jung almost left the yard with one he smacked to the opposite field off the wall. As well as Kyle Higashioka smacked a double to center field on one. Marcus Semien lined a fastball to left field too. Four, the Rangers bullpen arms looked good besides Luke Jackson. Garcia did alright, Martin got out of a jam and had a good inning, and Shawn Armstrong got out of the inning Luke Jackson couldn’t.

It is just game one of 162 games, there is no reason to freak out yet. The Rangers have a good team and I will say that confidently.
