The Rangers have completed their trade with the Mets that sent Ariel Jurado for a player to be named later and cash. The Rangers recieved right-hander Stephen Villines.
Villines was drafted by the Mets in the 10th round of the 2017 draft. In his three minor league seasons, he has a 10-7 record with a 2.67 earned run average.
Last year, he spent time in Double-A and Triple-A. In Double-A, he pitched 45 innings and had a 1.20 earned run average with a 1.067 WHIP. He struggled in Triple-A with the Syracuse Mets, pitching 16 innings with a 6.75 earned run average and a 1.938 WHIP.
