RoughRiders get shutout 3-0 today

Despite getting shut out 3-0 today Frisco took two out of three games from the Arkansas Travelers since starting back up after the allstar break.

Frisco’s starter Jack Leiter (2-8, 6.24) made his 1st start since July 10th. He went 3.1 innings, 2 runs on 4 hits, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts before being replaced by Grant Anderson who went 2/3 of a inning. Anderson allowed both runners to score that Leiter responsible for.

Anderson (3.43) allowed one run on three hits in 2/3 of an inning.

Frisco got great relief work from Avery Weems (5.32) who went 4 scoreless innings allowing only 2 hits, 1 walk and struckout 6.

The RoughRiders line-up was held to 4 hits today. Catcher David Garcia had 2 of their 4 hits.

Garcia may have injured himself. He was replaced by Jordan Procyshen in the bottom of the 7th.

Jonathan Ornelas and Justin Foscue had the other hits for Frisco with one each.

What’s next?

The RoughRiders are 4 games behind Midland and have Monday before starting a 6-game series against the Springfield Cardinals on Tuesday July 26th.

The RoughRiders will send left-hander Cody Bradford (6-6, 5.93) to the hill against RHP Michael McGreevy (5-2, 3.98) for the Cardinals.
