Right-hander Grant Anderson (6.33) replaced Tim Brennan in the top of the 5th. He pitched two innings and allowed one run on two hits and two strikeouts.

The Sod Poodles would go on to add a run in the bottom of the 5th and the 7th for a 6-0 lead.

Even though they lost, the RoughRiders didn’t lose any ground thanks to the other teams losing. The game between the Springfield Cardinals and the Northwest Arkansas Naturals was pretty intense. The Naturals didn’t go down without a fight but ended up losing 13-12 in 11 innings.

Tim Brennan (0-3, 3.75) took the loss, his 3rd of the season while right-hander Justin Lewis (2-1, 9.53) earned the win for the Soddies pitching 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit, one walk and struckout two.

For the Riders Josh Smith went 1-1 with three walks and Josh Stowers was the only one with a multi-hit game going 2-3 with the run.

The RoughRiders still maintain their 1/2 game lead and control their destiny. They sent right-hander Ronny Henriquez (4-4, 5.04) to face-off against RHP Ryne Nelson (3-3, 3.60) and the Sod Poodles for game number 118 of the season. #LetsRide
