Roughriders pick up 2nd straight win in great showing from pitching staff on Friday night.

Friday night in Frisco we had a great matchup where the Rangers No. 10 Prospect David Davalillo was set to face off with Padres No. 15 Prospect Jagger Haynes and the San Antonio Missions.
The First 2 innings, both Pitchers were keeping the prospects at bay. However, in the top of the 3rd Davalillo would find himself into some trouble. After a quick strikeout of Gomez, Vilar and Campbell would get 2 weak his to the outfield followed by a ripped single Kai Murphy which forced the runner to stay at third making it bases loaded with no outs. Davalillo would get Ortiz to hit a Mile High Pop up to SS Sebastian Walcott marking the 2nd out, however would then give up a 2 out walk platting the games first run making it a 1-0 Missions lead. Sanabria would have then sky one to left for the 3rd and final out.
In between innings, Jagger Haynes would be taken out of the game during his warm up pitches and would be replaced by 32 Year Old and former A’s and Diamondbacks RHP JB Wendelken.
Wendelken would blank the Roughriders for the first 2 innings of his relief appearance until finally in the 5th inning, after a Marcus Smith walk and a Cam Cauley sac bunt, Abimelec Ortiz absolutely Laced a single to Left Center allowing Smith to score making it a 1-1 game and ending the night for Wendelken who was replaced by RHP José Geraldo.
David Davalillo was then pulled in the 6th after 2 soft grounders to third and a walk ending his night with 5.2 IP, 5H, 1ER, 3BB, 4K. Overall the righty wasn’t tagged a whole bunch aside from the laced single by Kai Murphy. At times he got a little ope I'lln on fastball and threw them below the batters knees but other than that it was a good night for the righty whose ERA is now down to a 2.28 on the season. He threw 47 of his 75 pitches for strike tonight, and his fastball sat around 94 mph reaching 95-96 mph from time to time.
Ryan Lobus would come in and retire Castañon on a weak Grounder.
The bottom of the 6th would be when things opened up for Frisco as Keyber Rodriguez laced a single down the line, advanced to 2nd on a pass ball, then proceeded to steal 3rd. Ian Moller would then hit a double down the left field like to score him giving Frisco a 2-1 Lead. Once Moller advanced on a fly ball to Center he would come on to score after another passed ball making it 3-1 Roughriders.
Ryan Lobus would stay out in the 7th and continue the momentum ride for Frisco as he retired the Missions in order ending the inning with a swinging strikeout on a slider.
After the 7th the bats fell silent aside from a few walks from both sides.
Lobus, Danielson, and Carrillo would combine for 3.1 IP, 0H, 1BB, 4K out of the bullpen tonight solidifying a great night of pitching from the Rough Riders.
Lobus would get credited for the win moving to 3-3 on the season, while Carrillo picked up his 4th save.
Frisco moves to 12-19 in the second half and 50-49 overall on the season.
