RoughRiders Roll: Bratt’s Gem and Bats Erupt in 11-2 Rout of Naturals
The Frisco RoughRiders unleashed a relentless offensive barrage without a home run and rode their first quality start of the season to an 11-2 drubbing of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Saturday night. LHP Mitch Bratt delivered a quality start, tossing six innings of two-run ball, allowing six hits, striking out six, and issuing zero walks on 75 pitches (56 strikes). It marked the longest outing by a RoughRiders starter this year and the Texas League’s first quality start of 2025.
Frisco’s lineup has been a juggernaut, plating 32 runs on 41 hits over their last three games, and the Naturals (Royals) felt the full brunt. The RoughRiders racked up 11 runs on 15 hits, drawing seven walks for good measure.
Leading off, Alejandro Osuna set the tone, going 2-for-5 with an RBI. Shortstop Sebastian Walcott dazzled, finishing 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI, and a walk.
Cameron Cauley was the star, going 3-for-4 with a monstrous three-run triple, driving in four runs and adding two walks. Josh Hatcher chipped in with a 2-for-6 night and an RBI, while Keyber Rodriguez and Luis Mieses each went 3-for-5, with Mieses tacking on an RBI. Anthony Zavala joined Cauley with two walks, helping Frisco exploit Naturals pitching all night.
The RoughRiders bullpen, already a force, slammed the door. Ryan Lobus and Travis MacGregor combined for three shutout innings, preserving the blowout. Frisco’s relievers rank among the Texas League’s elite through seven games (4-1 record): tied for first in saves (3) and inherited runners allowed percentage (25%), third in opposing average (.183), and fourth in ERA (2.41).
The Naturals, meanwhile, couldn’t keep pace. Their two runs off Bratt were all they could muster, as Frisco’s pitching and lineup stifled any comeback hopes.
