Scott Burchett is the RoughRiders new GM

Scott Burchett is likely a familiar name to many Rangers and RoughRider fans for a couple of reasons. Frist, is because Burchett is entering his 19th season as an employee with the Frisco RoughRiders and most recently served as their COO and is now taking over the GM role.

Second, Scott’s dad, Dave Burchett, used to be the Rangers Director of Broadcast for 37 years until his retirement in 2019. So there is definitely a family history of working in baseball.

If you’ve been to a RoughRiders game, chances are you have seen Scott walking around the concourse.

Burchett took over the role of RoughRiders GM on September 19th.

I reached out to Chuck Greenberg, the RoughRiders General Partner and CEO for comment.

Yes Victor is no longer part of the RoughRiders organization. Scott Burchett took over the role of General Manager on September 19th. We are already seeing the impact of Scott’s passion for the RoughRiders, camaraderie with the staff and love of Minor League Baseball and everything that makes it so special.

According to the RoughRiders website, Burchett was born and raised in Garland, Texas and went to Baylor University. His family currently resides in McKinney.

Burchett becomes the RoughRiders third GM since 2020. Andy Milovich departed in 2020 and Victor Rojas served in the role from 2021-2022.

Congratulations to Scott Burchett on his new role as the RoughRiders GM!

Possible improvements being planned for Riders Field?

Not that it needs any but I also asked Greenberg if there were any plans for any renovations or upgrades to Riders Field.

As for ballpark improvements, we are looking at an array of possibilities for next season that, while not on the level of a Lazy River, will upgrade and refresh the fan experience on a nightly basis.

The RoughRiders 2023 season begins April 6th at 6:05 PM as they host the Amarillo Sod Poodles for a three-game series.
