Sebastian Walcott Named to 2025 All-Star Futures Game

On Monday, June 30, 2025, Major League Baseball announced that Frisco RoughRiders shortstop Sebastian Walcott, the Texas Rangers’ No. 1 prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 9 overall prospect, was selected to the 2025 All-Star Futures Game.

The showcase, set for Saturday, July 12, at 3:00 p.m. CT at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia, highlights the best prospects in Minor League Baseball, and Walcott’s return to the event—after starting at shortstop in the 2024 Futures Game and participating in the inaugural Futures Skills Showcase at Globe Life Field—marks another milestone for the Nassau, Bahamas native.

Solid Season at Double-A

Walcott, who signed as an international free agent on January 15, 2023, has shone in his third year with the Rangers organization. His 2025 stats with Frisco:

  • .247/.349/.395/.744, 8 HR, 33 RBI, 18 SB in 71 games
  • 24 extra-base hits through 74 team games (most by a Double-A teenager since Fernando Tatis Jr.’s 35 and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s 30 in 2018)
    In 2024, Walcott hit .348 (8-for-23) with Frisco, becoming the youngest player in Rangers Double-A history.
