Forgive me but I’m going to try something a little different this time. I’m going to come back each night after the game and update this post with some highlights so be sure to come back each night. Let me know how you like it.

As I sit here writing this post, the first game of this series is underway and they are heading into the 3rd inning scoreless.

This year has flown by for me and this series kind of brings it to my mind as this is the last time this year that the Sod Poodles are in Frisco. You only have a handful of home games left to come out to Frisco to enjoy a RoughRider game.

This series is a 4-game series.

Prior to this game, the RoughRiders are 5-5 in their last games and the Sod Poodles are 8-2. This will be a hard series as the Sod Poodles are 1st in the Division. They won the 1st half post season race so if they win the 2nd half, the team with the next best record will go to the post season. With that in mind, let’s look at the games and the pitching match-ups.

Game 1: Thursday August 8th at 7:05 PM CST

SP: RHP Richelson Pena (0-1, 5.73) vs. RHP Jesse Scholtens (5-5, 5.66)

Pe?a had a solid, 3 scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts.

Luke Farrell is coming in, in relief. He pitched 1 scoreless inning and walked 1 in the process.

CD Pelham has looked better as of late, including tonight. He struck out the side in his scoreless inning of work.

Offense

The bats came alive in the bottom of the 6th as the Riders scored 3 runs. A couple of runs were scored on wild pitches and the other was a Sac-Fly by Leody Taveras.

The RoughRiders won the series opener by a final of 3-1.

Game 2: Friday August 9th at 7:05 PM CST

RHP Collin Wiles (0-2, 9.69) RHP Lake Bachar (7-3, 3.20)

Jonathan Hern?ndez actually started the game and pitched 2 scoreless innings, walking 1 and striking out 1. He threw 16 pitches, 11 for strikes.

Collin Wiles pitched 3 innings and allowed 1 run on 1 hit, 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. He threw 53 pitches, 32 for strikes.

Emerson Martinez pitched 2 scoreless innings allowing 1 hit and 3 walks. He threw 38 pitches, 21 for strikes.

Walker Weickel pitched a scoreless inning as well and threw only 8 pitches, 7 for strikes.

Game 3: Saturday August 10th at 7:05 PM CST

RHP Edgar Arredondo (6-3, 4.08) LHP Nick Margevicius (4-2, 3.81)

There was a power outage to start the game.

Game 4: Sunday August 11th at 6:05 PM CST

RHP Jason Bahr (1-3, 4.50) RHP Ronald Bolanos (6-3, 4.60)
