After winning game one on Tuesday, the RoughRiders dropped game two of the series with the Corpus Christi Hooks by a final of 7-5 in front of a crowd of 3,185. The RoughRiders move to 20-15 while the Hooks move to 13-22. Left-hander Avery Weems made his fifth start of the season. It was perhaps his best start of the season. It was State Fair night at Riders Field which featured a t-shirt giveaway to the first 500 fans and State Fair food staples including: Corn Dogs and funnel cakes. A crowd of 8,465 was on hand as the RoughRiders went by the name Corny Dogs and wore their special uniforms including the popular Corny Dog hat. RoughRiders return to their winning ways

A day after failing to extend their team record 11-game win streak to 12-games, the RoughRiders get back into the win column. They won 4-2 over the Midland RockHounds (Athletics) and move to 34-17 on the season. The RockHounds couldn't keep up and now are 23-28 on the season.
