MLB- Texas Rangers
Latest Mock Draft Results for the Rangers
There have been a lot of new mock drafts released over the past two or three days. I have rounded up sixteen of them to study, in order to see who the Rangers could take at number 12 in the first round. Once again, the only consistent theme in these mock drafts is that most of those creating them believe the Rangers want a shortstop, and most likely a high school shortstop. Brock Porter might be back
Brock Porter's journey with the Texas Rangers has been anything but straightforward, yet recent signs suggest he may be regaining his footing. Early Promise Entering the 2022 MLB Draft, Porter was a standout pitching prospect, ranked 11th overall on MLB.com's draft board. His accolades included the 2021 Gatorade State Player and National Player of the Year honors, earned after an impeccable 9-0 record with a 0.41 ERA, 115 strikeouts in 58 innings, and three no-hitters. Despite his commitment
Jacob Latz: The Rangers' Secret Weapon in a pivotal stretch
There are few players on the Rangers that have been better than Latz and he has been the best part of the bullpen. He has been versatile occupying a number of roles including being the long man in the bullpen, being an opener, and even being a starter. Latz was a bit of an afterthought coming into the year, but now he is anything but that. He has been great all year and I'm sure there is one game that sticks out to fans. On June 24, he was set to be an opener, go a few innings and then turn it
Rangers Purchase Contract of John Taylor from Baseball Bat Bros, Blue Crabs
The Texas Rangers have added a dynamic talent to their farm system, purchasing the contract of 24-year-old John Taylor from the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the Atlantic League. Taylor, a versatile left-handed batter and right-handed thrower, brings a little power, patience, and speed to the Rangers’ farm system. Known for his YouTube fame as part of The Baseball Bat Bros alongside his older brother Will Taylor, the channel’s creator with over 935K subscribers, Taylor’s journey from indepe
What should the Rangers do if they buy and or sell
If the Rangers are selling- If they end up falling out of the playoff picture and out of contention by the deadline I think they should sell off the guys on expiring contracts. Guys like Tyler Mahle, Hoby Milner, Chris Martin, Patrick Corbin and maybe Shawn Armstrong will garner some trade interest. I definitely think if the Rangers sell Tyler Mahle, Hoby Milner and Patrick Corbin need to be in different uniforms I think. The Cubs I think would have some interest in Mahle, they are in need of st
Factors that fueled the Rangers' hot streak
The Rangers seem to have found their groove as they have won seven of their last eight games and the last three series. They have played the Nationals, Twins, and White Sox in this stretch, while they are not the best teams in the world it is still improvement. The pitching continues to dominant Over these games, the pitchers have allowed 21 runs. They have been terrific from the starters to the bullpen, the worst start has come from Jack Leiter allowing four runs in four innings. Most of t
Kumar Rocker the closer? Let's pump the brakes
Near the end of April I happened to come across a couple interesting posts on X/Twitter. The post discussed the possibility that the Texas Rangers might be looking to bring Kumar Rocker back in the closer role following his rehab assignment. This idea would be quickly shut down by President of Baseball Operations, Chris Young, but let’s discuss the idea overall. Why would this idea make sense? As it stands, the Rangers are currently 29-31 and 4 games back of the Seattle Mariners in the AL Wes
Rocker looks great in Rehab Start in Frisco
On Friday night, Kumar Rocker made a Rehab outing to get his shoulder ready to reenter the Rangers blazing Starting Rotation. Through 2 Innings Rocker was sitting at 98 on his Fastball and has only allowed a single hit. Rocker was relying heavily on his fastball to care for his shoulder while continuing to mix in his Slider which was steadily in the upper 80’s. In the 3rd Rocker would continue to pepper the zone notching another Strikeout for his outing. Rocker only allowed 2 hits in his 3 inn
Rangers Sign Two-Way Phenom, Seong-Jun Kim
Rangers fans are in for a treat! The Texas front office, led by Chris Young and Ross Fenstermaker, worked their magic once again, signing Seong-Jun Kim, a two-way sensation from South Korea, for a reported $1.3M signing bonus, pending a physical. Young and Fenstermaker are always looking to the future while we’re in the present, and adding a two-way player to the Rangers’ system has fans excited. According to the “KBO in English” account, Seong-Jun Kim is skipping the KBO draft to start his pro
