Rangers hire Bret Boone as new Hitting Instructor

The Rangers announced Monday that they are bringing in 14 year veteran, 3 time All-Star, and 2 time Silver Slugger Bret Boone to become the Rangers’ lead hitting instructor for the remainder of the season. The news comes less than 24 hours after the club announced the firing of lead hitting instructor Donnie Ecker whose role Boone will now take the reins of. Boone is no stranger to success in the Big leagues, spending his 14 year career with Seattle, Cincinnati, and some very brief stints wi

Rangers place Taveras on outright Waivers

News came during the evening on Sunday that the Texas Rangers had waived Leody Taveras signaling the time given to him by Chris Young to “develop” is officially over. It had been reported that the Rangers were working on a trade that wanted the receiving team to take on all of his remaining salary but simply had no takers for the price that CY and company had in mind. To go over the waiver first, all other 29 teams will have a chance to place a claim on the 26 year old CF and it goes by sta

When will Evan Carter return?

It seems like Evan Carter could be back in Arlington as soon as today. Carter has spent his season in Triple A with the Round Rock Express as he has tried to get comfortable with his back condition, which cost him most of last year. Carter struggled in Spring Training and in the beginning of the minor league season. Up to April 13, Carter's batting average sat at just .138. However, that is when he picked it. His batting average has picked up to .221, in this span he is batting .270 (13-48). H

Evan Carter rising to top form

After a rough start to the 2025 season in Triple-A Round Rock, Evan Carter has found his stride and is regaining confidence in himself, his back, and his swing. Carter started off his first 7 games by going just 2 for 25 with only 1 RBI and had yet to record a single XBH. Things seemed to be a little bleak for the rehabbing lefty who had been looking to recapture the essence of what he accomplished in the playoffs in 2023. However, for Carter to accomplish that he needed to learn to trust his s

Rangers Shake Up Lineup, Call Up Blaine Crim for MLB Debut

Blaine Crim, will make his next plate appearance in Arlington against the Mariners for his MLB debut. The Texas Rangers are calling up Crim and optioning Jake Burger to Triple-A Round Rock, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. These are moves to ignite their struggling offense, and fans—myself included—have wanted to see Crim’s debut for a while. That wait is soon over. Rangers’ Offense in Need of a Spark The Rangers’ lineup has been ice-cold to start the season, averaging just 3.21 runs per

Jack Leiter's Rehab Start: A Breakdown

Last night, Jack Leiter pitched his scheduled rehab start versus the Las Vegas Aviators, the A's Triple-A affiliate. I watched every pitch, so let's do a deep dive about how it went: I arrived at the Dell Diamond on Tuesday night to get an up close view of Jack Leiter as he undertook what is planned to be his only rehab start before rejoining the Rangers' rotation either this weekend in San Francisco, or when the Rangers return to Arlington next Monday. Jack arrived to the field approximately

Jung drives in a pair in Roughriders first win of the season

Saturday night was a rather crisp one for an April night. On the mound for the Roughriders was Mitch Bratt who faced off against a rehabbing Lance McCullers Jr for Corpus Christi. The night began off rough for Bratt as he worked both of the first batters to an 0-2 count but proceeded to get on base via some weak hit singles. Bratt would then record a strike out followed by a walk to load the bases, but would escape the jam with a strikeout and a soft grounder to 1st. After a quiet bottom half

Eovaldi Claims First Complete Game Shutout of 2025

Nate Makes History Nathan Eovaldi continued to build on his Texas Rangers legacy Tuesday night, as he posted the first complete game shutout of the 2025 MLB season. The Alvin, Texas, native re-signed with the Rangers over the summer for a new 3-year/$75 Million contract, and has looked worth every dime through two games. The 35-year old starter has posted a 1.20 ERA, 0.47 WHIP, and 17 strikeouts through 15.0 innings. The performance was the fifth complete game, and third complete game shutout

Evan Carter Not On the Opening Day Roster. Why Is That Good?

Some may be surprised that Evan Carter did not make the opening day roster. I am not surprised very much at all. I think it was the right decision to start him in AAA. Evan Carter missed a majority of the 2024 season due to back issues. Evan Carter was called up in September in 2023 at the age of 20, and played 23 regular season games with the club. He also played most of the postseason that year. He was a crucial part to that championship team. He was known as "the little savior". I knew from t

Rangers place Dane Dunning on Waivers After a Memorable Run

The Texas Rangers were the World Series Champions just a short 17 months ago, and Dane Dunning was named their Pitcher of the Year that season. Now, the Texas Rangers have placed Dane Dunning on outright waivers. How quickly time flies! After a rough 2024 and a horrible 2025 spring training it is very likely Dane Dunning’s Texas Rangers career is over. He will cost another team $2.66 Million Dollars if they want him, and the Rangers hope someone does. That money could then be used elsewhere in

Rangers announce roster for Spring Breakout game

Earlier today the Rangers released their roster for the Spring Training Spring Breakout game on Saturday March 15th against the Giants. The Rangers will feature 17 of their current top 30 prospects according to MLB Pipeline including 7 of the top 10. The big names include Rangers No. 1 overall prospect Sebastian Walcott who’s been really raising eyebrows over the course of camp and seemed to have Rangers 2B Marcus Semien take him under his wing for camp and whom many people think will make t
