TCL RoughRiders game 2 recap: In game two of the three game series, the RoughRiders struck out 19 times but managed to win by a final of 7-2. A crowd of 1,254 was at the ballpark to witness this. The Drillers pitching staff racked up the strikeouts but they also walked eight RoughRiders and allowed 10 hits.

The RoughRiders tied the series and the are 1-1 so far in this 30-game season.

The starting pitcher for the Frisco RoughRiders, Zeke Wood, pitched three innings. He allowed one run on two hits and walked three and threw 52 pitches in the process – 27 of those for strikes.

Brennen Smith pitched 1.1 innings of relief and allowed one run on two hits, two walks and one strikeout.

Spencer Johnston came in and took care of business. He held the Drillers scoreless for 4.2 innings. He only allowed two hits, walked two and struck out five.

Offensively for the Riders, Tommy Sacco led the way. He went 3-5 with three RBI and he has a .333 batting average over this two game span.

Dan Pruitt went 2-4 with an RBI and is hitting for a .429 average.

Avery George was the only RoughRider who didn’t strike out but he batted only one time as he pinch hit.

Drillers

The Drillers used five pitchers to get their 27 outs. Their starting pitcher, Hunter Barco, threw 80 pitches in his three innings and allowed one run on four hits. He walked two and struck out eight.

The Drillers lineup worked 7 walks and struck out 6 times and no one had more than one hit.
