Texas Rangers Farm Report: April 7, 2026 – RoughRiders Win Big in Home Opener

The Texas Rangers’ minor league affiliates were back in action on April 7, 2026. The Frisco RoughRiders celebrated a successful home opener at Riders Field, and Hub City had a nice pitching performance from Aidan Curry. Here are the highlights from around the farm.

Round Rock Express at Oklahoma City Comets (Dodgers)

Final: Express 3 | Comets 4

2026 record 2-8 boxscore

The Express have had a rough season so far. They entered this game with a 2-7 record. They lost to the Comets 4-3 so they are now 2-8 after their first 10 games of the season.

Left hander Austin Gomber took the mound for the Express. Things didn't go how he wanted as he wasn't able to get through 3 innings. He pitched 2.1 innings and allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, two walks and 4 strikeouts. 92.6

Jonah Bride leads the entire Rangers farm system in HRs (2). He hit his 2nd of the season. He sent a baseball 325 feet to left field at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Alejandro Osuna had a two-hit game finishing 2-for-4 with a run.

Up next: game two of the six game series. RHP Trey Supak starts for the Express. LHP Cole Irvin for the Comets. First pitch 11:05 AM CT.

Frisco RoughRiders vs Midland RockHounds

Final: RockHounds 1 | RoughRiders 9

2026 record: 4-0 boxscore

Frisco had its home opener today against the Midland RockHounds (Double-A affiliate of the Athletics).

Mason was at the game and wrote about it. You can read his recap here.

LHP Josh Trentadue, who was drafted in the 14th Rd of the 2023 draft, got the start for the RoughRiders. He had a nice outing.

Wilian Bormie pitched two scoreless and hitless innings out of the pen and struckout 3 in the process.

Zach Bryant, Austin Roberts and Ryan Lobus all contributed a scoreless inning and each recorded a strikeout.

At the plate the RoughRiders scored nine runs on 10 hits and 5 walks. The highlight was catcher Ian Moller hitting the first HR of the season at Riders Field. He finished the night going 2-for-4 with a HR and RBI.

There were two other RoughRiders who had a multi-hit game: Keyber Rodriguez & Blake Mitchell.

Up next: Game two of the six game series today. LHP Blake Townsend starts for the RoughRiders against LHP Wei-En Lin for the RockHounds. First pitch 6:35 PM.

Hub City Spartanburgers vs Greenville Drive (Red Sox)

Final: Greenville 7 | Spartanburgers 2

2026 record 0-3 boxscore

Both teams were still searching for their first win coming into this game.

Aidan Curry was the starting pitcher for the Spartanburgers who took the field for the first time as the 'Pastimes'. I can say this for any prospect but it is a really important season for Curry. This was a fantastic first start.

He had 10 whiffs, at least one on a curveball and got a strikeout on a batter chasing a cutter.

Curry's final line: 4 IP, 0 R, 5 H, 7 SO, 68/52 strikes, 10 swing & misses

Bullpen

Josh Sanders: 2 IP, 2 R (0 ER), 2 H, 1 BB, 1 SO

Luke Savage: 1 IP, 3 SO, 14/12 strikes

Paxton Thompson (0-1, 21.60) was charged with the loss. 1.2 IP, 5 R (4 ER), 4 H, 1 BB, 2 SO.

Anthony Susac: 0.1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 SO

Paxton Kling went 2-for-3 with a walk, run and a SB.

Arturo Disla hit his first HR of the season.

Up next: Game two of the six game series today. RHP Enrique Segura starts for Hub City. TBD for Greenville. First pitch 5:35 PM CT.

Hickory Crawdads at Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (White Sox)

Final: Crawdads 4 | Cannon Ballers 3

2026 record: 3-1 boxscore

RHP Aneudis Mejia got the start for the Crawdads but due to pitch count (31 pitches), he didn't make it out of the first inning.

His line: 0.2 IP, 3 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 2 SO

I really need to give a shout-out to the Crawdads bullpen as they combined for 8.1 shutout innings. They walked 4 but struck out twelve.

J.D. McReynolds (1-0) earned the win. His line: 2 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 5 SO, 34/22 strikes

Paulino Santana, Hector Osorio and Josh Springer each had a two-hit game.

Marcos Torres, Yolfran Castillo and Luis Marquez each had an RBI.
