The week of September 2nd through September 7th showcased a mix of promising outings from top prospects and important rehab appearances from major leaguers. Here’s a closer look at some of the pitching highlights from that final stretch.

September 2nd

Hickory Crawdads vs. Charleston (Rays)

Enrique Segura (RHP): The 20-year-old earned the win (2-4) with a solid five-inning performance, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks. He recorded four strikeouts on 77 pitches (46 strikes, 31 balls), with six groundouts and two flyouts.
Hub City vs. Rome (Braves)

Dylan MacLean (LHP): The 23-year-old lefty pitched five innings, giving up just one run on five hits and one walk. He struck out five batters on 80 pitches (53 strikes, 27 balls) and had four groundouts and four flyouts.

Frisco RoughRiders vs. Midland (A’s)

Josh Trentadue (LHP): A wild outing for the 23-year-old, who went 2.2 innings without giving up a hit but walked five batters and allowed one run. He threw 60 pitches (23 strikes, 37 balls) and tallied three strikeouts, three groundouts, and one flyout.

Round Rock Express vs. Albuquerque (Rockies)

Tyler Mahle (Rehab): A difficult rehab start for Mahle, who gave up five runs on five hits in just one inning. He threw 36 pitches (23 strikes, 13 balls) with one walk, one strikeout, and two groundouts.

Cole Winn (Rehab): Winn’s rehab went much better, as he threw a clean inning on 17 pitches (11 strikes, 6 balls) with two groundouts.

Carl Edwards Jr. (RHP): The 34-year-old took the loss (2-1), going five innings and allowing three runs on four hits. He struck out eight batters on 87 pitches (55 strikes, 32 balls), with three groundouts and three flyouts.

September 3rd

Hickory Crawdads vs. Charleston (Rays)

Owen Proksch (LHP): The 21-year-old, a 2025 9th-round pick from Duke, earned the win (2-1) by pitching two scoreless innings. He allowed one hit and struck out four batters on 26 pitches (17 strikes, 9 balls), with one groundout.

Hub City vs. Rome (Braves)

Aidan Curry (RHP): The 23-year-old went 3.1 innings, giving up one hit and two walks. He struck out five batters on 60 pitches (37 strikes, 23 balls) and had four groundouts and two flyouts.

Brock Porter (RHP): Porter was promoted to High-A Hub City and made an appearance in his first game. The 22-year-old pitched 2/3 of an inning, walking two but also striking out two. He threw 20 pitches (9 strikes, 11 balls).

September 4th

David Davalillo (RHP): The 22-year-old went four innings, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks. He struck out six batters on 74 pitches (49 strikes, 25 balls), with five groundouts and one flyout.

September 5th

Hickory Crawdads vs. Charleston (Rays)
