Rangers prospect Jack Leiter selected to play in Futures Game

The Texas Rangers top prospect, Jack Leiter has been selected to the SiriusXM All-Stars Futures game. The selection was announced on Wednesday.

In his first professional season Leiter has a 2-6 win-loss record with a 5.36 earned run average in 48.2 innings pitched at the Double-A level. The earned run average probably seems to be higher than you’d expect but it does not tell the whole story. While command has been a struggle at times (28 walks), we’ve seen flashes of brilliance as well. He’s struckout 60 opposing batters. With the bases empty batters hit a line of .159/.321/.182/.503 against him. No doubt Leiter has electric stuff.

The Futures game will take place on July 16th in Los Angeles at Dodgers Stadium at 6:00 PM Central.

Last season right-hander Cole Winn and left-hander Cole Ragans represented the Rangers in the Futures game that was held in Colorado.
