There are a few things that came out today in regards to the Rangers farm system.
Injury News
The hits keep coming with the injuries to some key prospects. This time it is shortstop, Chris Seise. Seise was drafted in the 1st round of the 2017 draft, the 29th pick.
God has a great plan for me

After the tweet we found out that Seise had surgery on his non throwing shoulder. Last year he injured his throwing shoulder so it’s a bummer for him to miss practically another whole season.
He did have an extremely hot start to the year but had cooled down recently. His average was at .241 with 6 RBIs.
This unfortunately continues the trend for the Rangers top prospects being injured.
Tyler Phillips promoted to Frisco
My man Tyler Phillips has been promoted to Frisco. I’ll say it again, Tyler Phillips promoted to Frisco. I’m not sure the move is officially official but Evan Grant tweeted about it so it’s pretty much a done deal.
You will notice by looking at the numbers, that Phillips throws strikes. He rarely walks any batters although he had an an off-day on April 29th where he walked 3. In 37.2 innings this year he has walked 6. That is called throwing strikes. Now Phillips is not necessarily a strikeout pitcher but he does get them as he is averaging 6.7 strikeouts per 9 innings.
Peter Fairbanks
I noticed while looking at the RoughRiders roster that Peter Fairbanks is listed. Not sure if this sticks or not but let’s take a closer look at him.
He is a right-handed pitcher and I’ve seen it reported that his fastball can can hit 100. I’m no scout and I haven’t seen him in person but he’s got solid numbers. In 12.1 innings he has an ERA of 2.92 which is a small sample size. He’s got 15 strikeouts and 10.9 strikeouts per 9 and a WHIP of 1.135.
Cole Winn
Last I was told: Supposed to make 1st start in extended in the next week. https://t.co/VQ1daHDsfT

You can bet your hard earned dollar that we will be watching what Winn does quite closely. Winn was the 15th overall pick of the Texas Rangers in last year’s draft.
Also, Lemoine was promoted to the Nashville Sounds.
