Around the Farm: 4/29/19

Thank you for joining me as we go around the Texas Rangers farm system from games played on 4/29/19. I’ll give you a few highlights from each game.

Let’s go Around the Farm

Nashville Sounds (8-16)

The Sounds beat the Storm Chasers (Kansas City Royals) by a final of 5-4.

Richelson Pe?a (4.97) got the start for the Sounds and pitched 5 innings. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.

Brady Feigl (2.19) has been pretty solid all year but had his 1st blown save. He pitched 2 innings and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits and 2 strikeouts.

Jeffrey Springs got a scoreless inning in and earned his 1st win in the process. He struck out 2.

Line-up

Carlos Tocci went 1-4 with an RBI and a walk. Tocci started off hot but has cooled down of late as he is hitting .210 on the year. He had his 2nd stolen base but also got caught stealing.

Eli White went 2-3 with 1 run, 1 walk and 1 strikeout and a stolen base, his 3rd of the year. He is hitting .289.

Nolan Fontana had a great game going 3-3 but is only hitting .155 on the year. He had 3 runs and a walk.

Chase d’Arnaud went 2-4 with 1 RBI and 1 strikeout and is hitting .220.

Frisco RoughRiders (16-9)

The RoughRiders beat the Springfield Cardinals by a final of 9-2.

Pedro Payano (3-0, 2.49) earned his 3rd win of the year. He pitched 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run on 5 hits, 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.

Line-up

Josh Altmann went 2-5 with a home run and 4 RBI. The cool thing about his 1st home run with the RoughRiders is that his dad was at the game. Josh is one of my personal favorites. The guy is versatile and is heating up.

Eliezer Alvarez went 2-4 with a home run (4th), 2 RBI and a walk. He also stole his 3rd and 4th base of the year and is hitting .270 on the year.

Down East Wood Ducks (17-8)

The Wood Ducks beat the Myrtle Beach Pelicans by a final of 3-0.

Tyler Phillips (2-1, 1.14 ) was off his game as he issued 3 walks and that is not typical but he had a solid game. He pitched 7 shutout innings and allowed 3 hits, 3 walks and struck out 7. Phillips also has his 1st error on the year on a pick-off throw.

Line-up

Julio Pablo Martinez has started kind of slow since he was promoted but he hit his 1st home run. He went 1-4 with his home run and struck out once. His average at Down East is .119.

Ryan Dorow went 2-4 with 2 strikeouts. His average is at .259.

Diosbel Arias has been hot and continues to get hits. He went 1-4 with an RBI and a strikeout. His average is at .341.

Tyreque Reed went 2-4 with an RBI and hit his 3rd home run of the year. His average is up to .231.

Hickory Crawdads (16-7)

The Crawdads had the day off.
