Launching a Supporting Member tier for The Prospect Times

Thank you for reading The Prospect Times. Since launching the site in 2019 as a hobby to keep myself in the loop on the Texas Rangers farm system, it has grown into something much bigger than I expected. Your reads have meant a lot, and I really appreciate you being part of this.

What started as a simple hobby now takes a serious amount of time and work. I’ve had several contributors who have generously given hours of their time for free, and I’m incredibly grateful for that. After all these years though, the site is still entirely out-of-pocket for me, and I’m still using the same old camera lens I started with.

I want to build this into something more sustainable. That means being able to pay contributors for their work and eventually upgrading my gear so I can deliver better coverage.

To help make that happen, I’m launching a simple $5/month Supporting Member tier (or $50/year).

Most articles will still stay free. This tier is just for those who want to help support the site and get a few extra things in return.

What you get as a Supporting Member:

  • Recognized on the permanent “Thank You – Supporters” page.
  • Occasional exclusive posts (the first one — my Frisco Media Day notes — is already up).
  • Early access to certain articles, before being released to everyone.
  • Monthly member update email with extra notes.
  • Occasional behind-the-scenes photos from games that don’t get posted publicly.

Even if you can’t join right now, I'd still love your help growing the site:

  • Like and share our articles across social media (Facebook would be especially helpful).
  • Leave a comment on articles — almost no one does right now, and they really help with visibility.
  • Just talk about The Prospect Times with other Rangers fans.
