Round Rock sweeps double-header
Where’s the broom at? The Round Express swept both games of the double-header.
The sweep started by a fantastic pitching performance by 25-year-old Cody Bradford in Game 1 of the double-header. Bradford (W,2-0) went 6 innings 1 hit, ZERO runs, 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Cody threw 82 pitches 57 strikes 25 balls.
Chase Lee came in the 7th 1 inning 1 hit 2 walks 1 strikeout! Sugarland loaded the bases on Chase but he got the 3rd out to escape the jam.
So far early Cody is 2-0 0.00 ERA 11 innings 3 hits 3 walks 10 strikeouts!
Express had only 5 hits in 7 innings Elier Hernandez had 2 of them including a solo homer and RBI-single! The other 2 runs came from Rafael Ortega’s 2 run-double.
Game 2
Express starter, Kyle Cody had a short outing, only going 2.2 innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. In those 2.2 innings he threw 60 pitches – 41 strikes and 19 balls.
It was the bullpen that stole the show tonight. Daniel Robert went 1.1 inning’s ZEROS 2 walks 2 strikeouts Daniel 20 pitches 10 strikes! Joe Barlow 1 inning ZEROS 11 strikeout 10 pitches 6 strikes! Zack Littell (W,1-0) went 1.2 innings, 1 hit ZEROS 1 walk 3 strikeouts!
Zack started the 6th inning retired all 3 hitters by swinging strikeouts.
Jake Latz came in with a runner on 3rd and retired his only hitter on 3 pitches 3 pitch swinging BALLGAME!
The Express only had 7 hits! The 1st hit was a 2-run bomb from Sam Huff.
The game winner came in the top of the 7th. Elier Hernandez launched a SOLO BOMB his 2nd in this double-header.
