The Texas Rangers have promoted top prospect Sebastian Walcott to Triple-A Round Rock following the end of the Frisco RoughRiders' season. He is expected to serve as the DH for the Express tonight.

Walcott returned from injury and played two games with the ACL Rangers, hitting .500/.571/1.167 with an OPS of 1.738. He had a home run, a stolen base and a walk in that stretch.

He was then promoted to Frisco, where he served as the RoughRiders' designated hitter until the final game of the regular season. In that game, he took the field for the first time this year, playing shortstop.

With Frisco, Walcott slashed .322/.398/.586 with an OPS of .983. He hit nine home runs, drove in 20 runs, drew 17 walks and stole 11 bases. He was not caught stealing during the regular season.

At one point, Walcott homered in four consecutive games. His first postseason hit in a RoughRiders uniform was also a home run.

Walcott hit 10 home runs in 39 games between the ACL Rangers and Frisco. His career high is 13 home runs, set in 2025, so he came close to matching it in 85 fewer games.

He also added 20 pounds, and the added strength is noticeable. He also made changes in the box and they have paid off. I thought it was an incredible season.

Walcott is the Rangers' No. 1 prospect. He will turn 21 in March. Texas signed him as an international free agent out of Nassau, Bahamas, on Jan. 15, 2023.
