On February 16th the Rangers signed Joe Barlow to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training. Joe Barlow was with the organization in 2021-2023. In 2021 and 2022 Barlow was used as a leverage arm and even closed games logging 24 in the two years. In his rookie year Barlow logged a 1.55 ERA in 29 innings with 27 strikeouts. Express Walk Off on Rafael Ortega's Home Run

The Round Rock Express defeated the Albuquerque Isotopes 6-5 on Friday night in walk-off fashion. Rafael Ortega hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Express the win. The Express got out to an early lead, scoring two runs in the 2nd and adding one run in the 3rd and 4th. Frisco, TX- Prior to the game the RoughRiders sat with a 16-12 record in the 2nd half of the season and really need to string together more wins to have a shot at the postseason. The temperature at first pitch was 101 and it felt it but didn't stop the crowd of 3,139 who made their way to Riders Field. Round Rock, TX - The Round Rock Express, fortified by seven innings of 3 hit, shutout pitching from the bullpen, ended their 5 game losing streak, beating the OKC Dodgers 4-3 in 11 innings. Rangers Lose De Leon, Feigl to Rule 5; Retain Barlow

Double-A player Michael De Leon, and Triple-A player Brady Feigl were both lost to the Rule 5 MiLB draft today. De Leon was selected by Cincinnati.  Last season the 22-year-old infielder batted .260 in 477 at-bats with the Frisco RoughRiders.  He had an SLG of .314 and an OPS of .623.  Born January 14, 1997, in the Dominican Republic, De Leon bats both and throws right.  He's struggled some in the Dominican Winter League, batting only .164 in 67 at-bats. Promotions: Fairbanks to Nashville, DeMarcus Evans and Barlow to Frisco

Promotions! That's ultimately what we want to see in the Farm system and we've got a few coming up. According to Tepid and Evan Grant on Twitter, Peter Fairbanks is being promoted to Triple-A Nashville and DeMarcus Evans and Joe Barlow are being promoted to Double-A Frisco. All three of these arms are something to be excited about with at least 1 being a possibility of pitching in Arlington this year. It's not far fetched at all.
