Minor League Round up November 16th

There have been quite a few changes made in Minor-League baseball and their affiliates. Whether we like it or not ( I don't) the changes are happening as we speak. I plan on this being a weekly round up as long as there is enough news. With all of the news surrounding the contraction of teams and changing of affiliates, this should be a busy off-season for this minor league round up. Appalachian League Brett Barnett, with Bucs dugout has an excellent write-up of the contraction of the Appala

Taylor Hearn and Scott Heineman optioned to Triple-A Nashville

I miss baseball. You miss baseball. We all miss baseball. The Rangers option Taylor Hearn and Scott Heineman to Triple-A Triple-A Nashville on what was supposed to be Opening Day. Interesting move, but purely procedural. This does not impact their chances to make opening day roster. They can be recalled onto major league roster whenever season starts. https://t.co/mSYzKnMxCD ? Evan Grant (@Evan_P_Grant) March 26, 2020 As Evan states, both could still make the Opening Day roster, whenever tha

DeMarcus Evans and Kolby Allard will make noise in Nashville

Forgive me for being late in reporting this but right-handed reliever DeMarcus Evans and left-handed starter Kolby Allard will be making noise, not music, in Nashville. The Texas Rangers also assigned more players to Double-A Frisco yesterday. DeMarcus Evans will be in Arlington at some point this season. Honestly,  I was thinking that he may get a bullpen spot out of spring training but this move doesn't really surprise me. Evans has options available and has not thrown from the mound above Do

Nashville Sounds ballpark has changed names

I am late on this news but the Nashville Sounds, the Texas Rangers Triple- A affiliate, are playing at the same ballpark but the name has changed. The new name is First Horizon Park formerly known as First Tennessee Park. To be clear, the only thing that has changed is the name. Probably not but lets hope the name change can help the Nashville Sounds improve on their 2019 record of 66-72.

Nick Solak makes his debut for the Texas Rangers

Nick Solak, 24, is someone that alot of Ranger fans are excited about and it's for good reason. Solak was acquired by the Rangers when they sent Peter Fairbanks (Pete from Accounting) to the Tampa Bay Rays. With the Durham Bulls (Ray's) Triple-A team, Solak hit for an average of .266 with a .353 on-base percentage, .485 slugging and an OPS of .838 in 85 games In 30 games with the Nashville Sounds, Solak has been fantastic. Enough so that some Ranger fans are calling for the benching of Odor in

Sitting Down With Rangers Prospect Infielder Eli White From The Sounds

When I spoke with Nashville Sounds Play by Play man Jeff Hem last month about some prospects to keep an eye on there was no hesitation when he said Eli White. So when the Sounds came to Oklahoma City last week I made sure to connect with him. Eli willingly took time out of his preparation for the game that night to sit down for 10 minutes. Eli White came to the Rangers organization through a trade with the Oakland A's last off season that included the Tampa Bay Rays in a 3 team trade. (Fun Fac

Talking Nashville Sounds Baseball With Director Of Broadcasting Play By Play Man Jeff Hem

Ask any true sports fan and they will tell you that a play by play announcer is the heartbeat of any event to someone listening. Their job is to put the fan at the game. To bring such a bright light of detail that who ever is listening can follow along and get the same feeling of actually being there. This is especially true for baseball as a lot of people don't follow the game because they find it boring. How can anyone listen to Vin Scully and find baseball boring?? Jeff Hem takes minor leag
