Kyle Cody gets 1st Win and Sam Huff hits his 1st home run

After losing three-games in a row, the Rangers got back into the win column on Sunday with their 7-2 win over the Angels. They move to 19-34 with only seven games remaining in the season. For those on #RockerWatch, the Rangers would have the 2nd pick if the season ended tonight. They are 4 games behind the Pittsburgh Pirates and will not pass them before the end of the season. Some exciting things happened in this win. Kyle Cody earned his 1st career win and Sam Huff hit his 1st home run. Hop

Rangers lose to the Athletics by a touchdown, 10-3

Losing has been a common theme recently for our Texas Rangers. You can't blame it all on the pitching. The blame can easily be spread to the defense and we'll hand some of it to the offense as well. The Rangers lose to the Athletics by a final of 10-3 and are now 11-18 on the season. The Athletics scored 5 runs in the top of the 7th to effectively end the hopes of the Rangers trying to claw their way back. At that point the Rangers had no fight in them. Well touch on this in a bit but the star o

Ranger things happened in their 10-6 loss to the Rockies

Ranger things happened during their 10-6 loss to the Rockies. With this loss the Rangers fall to .500 ball with a 10-10 record. They have 40 games to play to try and make the expanded post-season. Kolby Allard pitched three innings in which the Rockies scored 6 run on 8 hits, 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. The biggest inning was the 2nd, where the Rockies scored 5 runs. The defense of the Rangers leaves alot to be desired. Out of the pen Juan Nicasio had his first appearance of the season. He oitc

Rangers Recap: Seager slams the Rangers

The Rangers really can't afford to stop their losing streak but that's exactly what happened on tonight with the roof open at Globe Life Field. The Mariners got the best of Rangers pitching and Ranger killer, Kyle Seager hit a grand slam. The final was 10-2 and the Rangers are now 6-9 with 45 games left to play. This is supposed to be the easy part of the schedule for the Rangers but their record doesn't necessarily indicate that. They face the Colorado Rockies next after a day off on Thursday.

Taylor Hearn and Scott Heineman optioned to Triple-A Nashville

I miss baseball. You miss baseball. We all miss baseball. The Rangers option Taylor Hearn and Scott Heineman to Triple-A Triple-A Nashville on what was supposed to be Opening Day. Interesting move, but purely procedural. This does not impact their chances to make opening day roster. They can be recalled onto major league roster whenever season starts. https://t.co/mSYzKnMxCD ? Evan Grant (@Evan_P_Grant) March 26, 2020 As Evan states, both could still make the Opening Day roster, whenever tha

He threw 99 pitches and 57 of those were strikes. Kyle

Around the Farm: Updates on the Rangers minor-league teams

Around the Farm I have been slacking majorly the last couple of days. For anyone going to Frisco tomorrow or Sunday, I will be there covering the games. If you see me, be sure to say "hi". There have been quite a few prospects doing some good things in the first couple of games. The purpose of this post is to highlight these players. One thing you will notice about the pitching performances the first couple of nights throughout the farm is the number of walks. These pitchers are not issuing f
