MLB- Texas Rangers
Nick Goody activated from IL; Gibaut sent to alternate site
The Texas Rangers made a couple of more roster moves today. Nick Goody activated from IL Right-handed relief pitcher Nick Goody was activated from the 10-day IL for back spasms. Goody has pitched 4 innings and allowed 3 runs - 2 earned, three walks and two strikeouts. He has given up one home run so it all adds up to a 1.750 WHIP. I'll need to see him a few more times before I make a judgment on his effectiveness. I'd still rather see DeMarcus Evans and can't understand why he isn't in this R
Rangers lose to the Athletics by a touchdown, 10-3
Losing has been a common theme recently for our Texas Rangers. You can't blame it all on the pitching. The blame can easily be spread to the defense and we'll hand some of it to the offense as well. The Rangers lose to the Athletics by a final of 10-3 and are now 11-18 on the season. The Athletics scored 5 runs in the top of the 7th to effectively end the hopes of the Rangers trying to claw their way back. At that point the Rangers had no fight in them. Well touch on this in a bit but the star o
Ranger things: moves from August 24th and 25th
Welcome to Ranger things. Sometimes it's better late than never and that's the case here. Here are the Rangers roster moves from August 24th and 25th. August 24th Leody Taveras Center fielder, Leody Taveras was finally recalled from the alternate training site. Something that I called for earlier in the day. Obviously the Rangers don't listen to what I have to say but its cool to be right when I play the role GM. Leody was inserted right into the line-up and got his first major league hit go
After a rough start; it's time for the Texas Rangers to play their prospects
This goes without saying but I'm going to say it anyway, "This is not the typical baseball season". Heck, if it was maybe I probably don't fully buy into this idea but hear me out. It's time for the Rangers to play their prospects. The Rangers have lost 8 games in a row after losing the 3-game series to the Mariners. This team isn't performing up to their ability, or maybe they are. Either way we are not a .500 baseball team. The Rangers are currently 10-17 with only 33 games left to play. It is
Not your Daddy’s recap 8/22/2020
Hello y'all! I don't know about you but this team has me feeling weary right down to my bones. This week I went to an interactive aquarium with Kid 3 and swam with the stingrays. It is life-changing. We need some of their energy. We've lost six straight now, and I have no confidence that tonight won't be Number Seven as we face Seattle. We need a spark in our bats. Our top four rank 28th in batting average in the MLB. If we lose tonight I think it's time to call in the young guys from the Altern
Foscue Added To 60-Man
According to John Blake, Justin Foscue was added to the Texas Rangers 60-man player pool and he was assigned to the Alternate training site. Foscue was chosen 14th overall in the 2020 MLB draft by the Rangers. He plays second and third base. The R/R hander was at Mississippi State and competed for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team in 2019. Most of the Rangers prospects at the alternate site likely won't see any time in a game. They are there for work in what otherwise is a lost seaso
Rangers things: Giving up Grand Slams 3 consecutive games
Welcome to another edition of Rangers Things. The Rangers lost in 10 innings by a final of 6-3. The San Diego Padres are running roughshod to the Rangers and their pitching. They have now hit Grand Slams in three consecutive games, which has to be some sort of record. If it is- that isn?t the type of record you want on your resume. The shot tonight came from the bat of Manny Machado against closer Rafael Montero who was pitching into his second inning. Some would argue that decision. Pitching
Lance Lynn takes the mound for the Rangers against Nasty Padres
The Rangers are now in San Diego for a two-game series after the Padres swept the two-game series in Arlington. Hopefully, the Padres won't hit a grand slam three games in a row. That would probably set some sort of record if it happened. The Rangers send their bona-fide ace, Lance Lynn to the mound. If anyone can help the Rangers get back on a winning streak it is Lance Lynn. He's got a 3-0 record with a 1.11 earned run average with 36 strikeouts. Lynn has started 5 games and pitched 32.1 inni
Rangers things: 3-game losing streak
Welcome to Rangers things. The Rangers currently to a 3-game losing streak with their 6-4 loss to the Padres today. This loss brings their record to 10-12 and they fall to 5 1/2 games out of 1st place behind the Oakland Athletics who have a 16-7 record. The Rangers pitching staff has given up a grand slam to the Padres in each of the last two games. The first one was hit by rising star, Fernando Tatis Jr on a 3-0 count in the Rangers 14-4 loss. It was hit off Rangers pitcher Juan Nicasio- who
Rangers line-up 8/17/2020 vs the Nasty Padres
The Texas Rangers welcome the San Diego Padres to Globe Life Field for a quick two-game series. Jayce Tingler, who was with the Rangers for many years is the manager and has them playing close to .500 baseball. Here is the Texas Rangers line-up 8/17/2020. The game will be at Globe Life Field and start at 8:05 PM CST. Jordan Lyles and Mike Minor were flipped in the rotation to give Minor extra rest. So Jordan Lyles (1-1, 6.06) takes the mound for the Rangers and Zach Davies (2-2, 2.78) for the P
